Did You Know.......
....the Pele and Hi'iaka story is never told anywhere in the great collection of folklore made by Abraham Fornander and published by the Bishop Museum in the years 1916-1920. This indicates that the story was a monopoly of the hula people, and its recitation with chant and dance was their prerogative, that is, it was kapu to them.
