Did You Know.......
Everything was done in an orderly manner in the old hula schools. The pa'u was put on only when the kumu chanted the mele of the pa'u, never before or after. Leis and kupe'e were put on with their appropriate meles. The kupe'e were made of sea shells in the olden days and in the days of the monarch were made of yarn.
